Michael
Baselice
Michael Baselice (pronounced
Bass-uh-lease) is President of Baselice & Associates, Inc., a
survey research firm which conducts opinion polling for decision
making in politics and public affairs.
While Michael specializes in consulting for Republican candidate
races in the State of Texas, he has extensive experience in
political campaigns and issue/referendum projects throughout the
United States.
Several campaigns for which Baselice &
Associates conducted survey research in 1998 are Rick Perry for
Texas Lt. Governor and California's Prop 224 (Against). In 2000, Baselice & Associates, Inc.
conducted the survey research that helped to defeat Prop 25 and
helped pass Prop 35 in California.
In 2002, Baselice & Associates, Inc. conducted the statewide
survey research for Governor Rick Perry, Lt. Governor David
Dewhurst, and Attorney General Greg Abbott.
In the past ten years, Michael has
conducted polling for a number of GOP officeholders in Texas
including Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison and Congressmen Archer,
Armey, DeLay, Bonilla, Brady, and Thornberry. He has also
assisted in key State Senate races including those represented
by State Senators Estes, Janek, Deuell and Duncan.
Prior to starting his own company in
January of 1997, Michael managed the Houston office for The
Tarrance Group where he worked for seven years and personally
coordinated over 350 survey projects.
Prior to joining The Tarrance Group, Michael was a Research
Analyst for the National Republican Congressional Committee
during the 1988 campaign cycle and conducted opposition research
and targeting projects for key congressional campaigns.
In 1987, Michael produced the first ever
ORVS (Optimal Republican Voting Strength) manual in the nation
for the Republican Party of Texas and has since assisted
Georgia, North Carolina, and Kentucky with their own ORVS
programs.
Michael received his B.S. cum laude in
Commerce and Engineering from Drexel University in Philadelphia,
PA.
